Goole is situated in the county of East
Yorkshire, England, roughly in the centre of a triangle formed by linking the
cities of York, Hull and Doncaster. It is in a location well served by motorway,
road, rail, inland waterway and overseas shipping links..

The M62 Motorway passes by Goole providing easy access to the
UK motorway network. Hull is a 30 minute drive away which itself has ferry links
to the continent, Zeebrugge in Belgium and Rotterdam in Holland. Doncaster is
roughly 25 minutes away and Leeds 45 minutes.
The recent pedestrianised town
centre, has greatly improved shopping for visitors and residents. As a
result many new businesses have been attracted to the town. Parking is free in
most of the town, however, in Wesley square a charge is made (50p/hour at the
time of writing).
Goole itself is a busy Port
with shipping Links to mainland Europe and the rest of the world. The docks
handle large amounts of cargo both import and export. Cars, timber and grain are
three of the major imports.
A canal network is also used to transport goods from the port further inland.

A railway connection with
direct trains to Hull, Doncaster and Leeds serves the town well.
Bus links
also connect the town to the major local cities of Leeds, Doncaster, Hull and
the nearby towns of Howden and Selby.
The nearest commercial airport is
Robin Hood airport
which is about 30 minutes away, closely followed by
Humberside Airport
which is approximately 45 minutes by road. The next nearest is Leeds Bradford
Airport which takes about 1 hour to travel to by road.
