Until 1998, the main shopping street in Goole, Boothferry
Road, was a busy thoroughfare carrying much of the towns visiting traffic.
A programme of pedestrianisation diverted all the traffic around the the centre
of town and created a much improved atmosphere for visitors to browse the shops.
This has also helped attract many new businesses to the town. The old railway
station has been demolished and a new one constructed (watch this space for

The Clock
Tower and Goole market Hall.
