Although Goole is not generally considered to be a tourist destination by the people who live in Goole, there are many  things for visitors to see depending on their interests.
    

The busy port of Goole with its many ships and landmarks makes an interesting visit. 
 

The Waterways Museum is well worth a visit with much information available on the history of the port of Goole. There is a 'Floating Art Gallery' called Room 58, originally a working barge. 
 

Birdwatchers can visit the RSPB Bird sanctuary at Blacktoft. The largest tidal reedbed in the UK. 
 

Goole's Pedestrianised Town Center is much more pleasant for shopping than it used to be. Many new businesses have been attracted to the town because of this. Shops include, Tesco, ASDA, Argos, Boyes to name a few.
 

Goole has several public parks and gardens providing recreational facilities such as bowling, tennis, children's play areas, dog exercise areas and more.

 

The town of Howden is three miles from Goole and has a semi ruined Minster as its focal point. Although much smaller than Goole, the town has plenty of character and is worth a visit. A popular walk named the Howden 20 starts from here.
  

Goole can also be used as a base to explore the surrounding areas and cities such as York and Hull. The Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Wolds are within easy travelling distance. The east coast seaside resorts of Withernsea, Hornsea, Bridlington, Scarborough and  Whitby are also within travelling distance of Goole.
